mission
I put this site together while facilitating the Coming Out Group at the Cambridge Women's Center -- more often than not, the women who attend the group are new to the area and don't know where or how to meet other LGBT women. In fact, when I moved back to Boston, one of the first things I noticed was a lack of centralized lesbian/bisexual/trans resources, and those that were listed were primarily geared toward men.
Later, when I conducted my counseling internships, women from various ages and backgrounds mentioned to me that the "lesbian scene" was very much entwined with the "bar scene" and that there weren't many diverse settings offered in the community. Well, I did some research and this site is the product of all my digging around on the net; I think you'll find that Boston has much to offer with respect to social networks, events, and organizations -- a little something for every kind of woman!
It's my hope that this site will bridge the gap as a much needed local LGBT resource and ease the transition for women new and "new" to Boston.
Ok, I'm off my soap box!
